Australian Wooden Boat Festival 2013 - 2019
Australian Wooden Boat Festival, (second largest festival of its kind in the world) drew crowds from all over the world to Tasmania. In 2019 over 4 days, 250,00 visitors, attended to see International Symposiums, Shipwright Village, Maritime Marketplace, and over 500 wooden vessels including 9 tall ships. Events including concerts, kids boat building and racing, special auction and the Ketch Review (a highly competitive world class event) were all included.
BALLANTYNE Photography, was there to capture everything. Managing teams of up to 40 photographers, drone crews, helicopter and aircraft. Managing library of images and distribution to International and National Press and Publications. Delivery and management of website images and much more.
Australian Antarctic Festival 2016 - 2018
Australian Antarctic Festival, is a unique event celebrating the union of the Anarctic Operations and Hobart, Tasmania as the mainland hub. Each year, over 40 schools attended, and over 10,000 visitors.
Visitors could learn first hand aboard the two Icebreaker vessels and a Royal Australian Airforce Galaxy supply aircraft, serving the Antarctic communities. Tours around icebreakers and the aircraft were all guided, providing school children and adult visitors with a real insight to Hobart’s services, Life on the ocean aboard an Icebreaker and life in the Antarctic.
In addition to the Icebreakers and Galaxy aircraft, the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Sciences (IMAS) and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), opened their doors to show the world leading studies being conducted in Hobart, the Antarctic.
If this wasn’t enough, there were also large exhibitions and talks to further illustrate the valuable work, being conducted along with a childrens penguin painting competition that saw over 8000 painted penguins entered each year.
BALLANTYNE Photography managed the photography from beginning to end. Programming shoots, managing image library and distribution to International, National and local publications. Covering the Opening Ceremony, School visits, Family visits, the science, exhibitions and stories of the event throughout these unique spaces.
